 Health and Well-being Assessments and Demonstrations

All for FREE!

Launch Day Programme

Pop in any time during the day for the following one-to-one health and well-being assessments:

  • Walking speed, grip strength, balance
  • Blood pressure, lung function, diabetes assessment
  • Well-being questionnaires
  • Cognition assessment
  • Body composition analysis
  • Dietary analysis

There will also be hourly activities all through the day:

  • Physical activity measurement
  • Body composition assessment techniques (including DXA)
  • Novel devices to improve diet and physical activity
  • Diet monitoring based on metabolomics

Specific 15-minute demonstrations and talks include:

10am Stress and coping in students
11am Exercise as part of chronic diseases: Parkinson’s Disease
12pm Response to exercise and blood spot sampling
2pm Stress and coping in students
3pm Exercise as part of chronic disease: Stroke
4pm Exercise as part of chronic disease: Frailty
5pm What your urine tells you about your diet and health
6pm Management of (pre-) diabetes
7pm Self-monitoring of functional ability as you get older
8pm Wearable Technology and gait analysis
